Welcome back beautiful people! Don’t know if you noticed it but I’ve been absent for quite a long time! Been caught up with work and even tho I’ve been travelling too, I did not have the will nor energy to start blogging again.. sigh.. I hope you had the chance to visit other countries, although if you didn’t, how does a Bali vacation sound? Good enough? Stop delaying your dream vacations and take your girlfriend, wife or your best friend with you because you won’t regret it! U ready?

If this is your first time in Indonesia and the fears of what could happen or what could go wrong are stopping you from your dreamt Bali vacations, say no more, I’mma gonna show you how easy and safe is to move around the island. I am no expert but a couple of tips and places to go here and there might help you 😉

Below you will be find few of the most instagram worthy places in Bali, so if you wanna step up your instagram game don’t blink or you will miss it!

Thanks to its breathtaking scenery and dreamt landscapes Bali has been booming in the recent years. Which was before a hidden gem has become now the place to go for all nomads communities and travellers who desire to explore South East Asia.

But before all that, I feel the need of explaining you a bit more about the island in general. Bali’s first language is Bahasa Indonesia, quite similar to what is spoken in Malaysia (Bahasa Melayu). However, it won’t be difficult to you to communicate in English with the lovely locals that are located in the tourist areas.

Tanah Lot temple

Some people might say “Oh yeah I saw Tanah Lot temple” but how many can say “I went to Tanah Lot temple”?! Although it sounds the same, it is not! In order to reach the temple you would have to walk offshore and hold tight your hands of your beloved ones to make sure none of you is flushed away! Or you can also let them go (like Elsa from Frozen), it is pretty much up to you.. Jokes aside, it is not a dangerous task although the high tide can make it complicated sometimes.

Once in the temple you will be greeted by some monks who will purify you (sort of baptism tho); they will put a couple of rice grains on your forehead and a flower behind one of your ears. I would strongly recommend you to go for it, it is quite a unique experience.

Walking around that area we found a cafe selling the most expensive and rare coffee in the world, a coffee that if I tell you how is it made you would never try! Luwak! – said the owner pointing to a strange animal (sort of a big meerkat..) I reckon I wasn’t sure whether he was talking to me or asking me to read a sign at the entrance.. Luwak coffee! – he repeated. This particular animal is the one in charge of producing so exclusive beverage, but how? Well, during the darkest nights, the luwak goes “hunting” for the most ripe and best coffee beans of the crop. It digests the fruit and expels the beans, which is collected later on by the farmers, washed, and roasted, a real delicacy. Something about the natural fermentation that occurs in the luwak’s stomach seems to make the difference. So basically, in case that you got lost between some fancy words, the coffee is made of cat poop! In the luwak’s defence, I have to say that it tastes quite nice, with a subtle kick of vanilla (coming from someone who doesn’t drink coffee).

Ulun Danu Bratan Temple

Most probably you have already seen this temple complex in some instagram celebrity post which proves how many people visit it and how famous it is, however, we did not find it too pack with people and enjoyed quite a lot walking around with our guide, Wayne. He explained us that the complex is located on the shores of Lake Bratan in the mountains near Bedugul. Water temples serve the entire region in the outflow area; downstream there are many smaller water temples that are specific to each irrigation association. Built in 1633, this temple is used for offerings ceremony to the Balinese water, lake and river goddess Dewi Danu, due to the importance of Lake Bratan as a main source of irrigation in central Bali.

Jatiluwih Rice Terraces

Jatiluwih rice terraces, once a UNESCO Cultural Heritage Site candidate, comprises over 600Ha of rice fields, or like Mufasa would say to Simba “everything the light touches”. Where the blue skies blend with the green rice fields it creates a picture difficult to match by any other landscape. These astonishing views would definitely help you to update your Instagram game big time.

The Bali Swing in Tegalalang, Ubud

I’m sure by now you might have enough places where to go in order to enjoy your Bali vacations and step up your Instagram game 😉 nonetheless, what would you say if I tell you that in the next place you will be touching the sky? Don’t believe me? Continue reading then!

This Bali swing located in Tegalalang (Ubud) is one of the most famous swings due to its incredible views of the paddy fields. Whether you like adventure or not this is one of the must things to do during your Bali vacations. Perhaps it is the rice fields underneath your toes, the feeling of touching the sky or that weird thought of whether the vest that you are wearing passed any security checking or not… But that shot of adrenaline seconds before letting yourself go, the air in your face and the sensation of freedom is worth trying.

On the other hand tho, if you are a bit afraid of heights or you ain’t a fan of swings, you can take take a photo in a sort of bird nest they have.

Monkey Forest and more temples

Last but not least, it wouldn’t be a proper Bali vacations if you didn’t visit the Monkey Forest. Prepare yourself to see tons of cheeky monkeys, ready to grab your most valuable belongings and run away with them! No joke! These monkeys are trained by skilful ninjas coming all the way from China!.. Well.. perhaps this last part isn’t true but if you like your new pair of sunglasses you better keep them out of their reach!

Apart from the Monkey Forest, there are hundreds of temples that you can visit and that will, with no doubt, make you have your dreamt Bali vacations.

PS: There are so many things in Bali that I couldn’t include all of them in this post! Find few of them below:
